Over the past four years since the launch of the PS5, we’ve been committed to evolving the console experience and delivering the top-tier games our players expect. Today, I’m excited to announce the next step in that evolution — introducing the PlayStation 5 Pro, our most advanced and innovative console yet.

We designed the PS5 Pro with our most passionate players and game developers in mind. Many of them have requested a system that delivers even higher fidelity graphics and smoother frame rates, particularly at 60 FPS. With the PS5 Pro, we’ve achieved this through several key performance upgrades:

- **Enhanced GPU**: The PS5 Pro boasts a GPU with 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory than the current PS5, enabling up to 45% faster rendering for a smoother gaming experience.

- **Advanced Ray Tracing**: We've introduced more powerful ray tracing capabilities that offer dynamic reflections and light refractions, doubling and sometimes tripling the ray-casting speeds compared to the PS5.

- **AI-Driven Upscaling**: Our new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution uses AI technology to enhance image clarity, adding incredible detail for sharper visuals.

The PS5 Pro delivers breathtaking graphics at high frame rates. In a special video presentation, lead architect Mark Cerny dives into the key innovations that make the PS5 Pro truly exceptional.

Other features include **PS5 Pro Game Boost**, improving the performance of over 8,500 backward-compatible PS4 games. Enhanced image quality for select PS4 games is also available, and the console supports **VRR** and **8K gaming**. Additionally, PS5 Pro comes equipped with **Wi-Fi 7** for faster connectivity where supported.

Many game developers have already embraced the PS5 Pro’s cutting-edge technology, and several upcoming titles will be patched with free updates to take full advantage of the system’s capabilities. Look out for the **PS5 Pro Enhanced** label on games like *Alan Wake 2*, *Assassin’s Creed: Shadows*, *Demon’s Souls*, *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth*, *Hogwarts Legacy*, and more.

The PS5 Pro maintains the familiar design of the PS5 family but incorporates higher performance specs. It is the same height as the original PS5 and offers a 2TB SSD, with the option to add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive.

Fully compatible with existing PS5 accessories like PlayStation VR2 and the DualSense Edge, the PS5 Pro ensures seamless integration into the PS5 ecosystem. It will be available starting **November 7, 2024**, priced at $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY. Preorders begin **September 26, 2024**.

Whether players choose the PS5 or the new PS5 Pro, we remain committed to delivering the ultimate gaming experience for everyone.
