Trump has threatened to deport immigrants from a specific country if elected again.
As the U.S. presidential election draws nearer, the war of words between the two main rivals is intensifying. Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris are targeting each other with verbal attacks. As in previous elections, immigration remains a key issue. While the Democratic government takes a lenient approach to immigration, the Republican government has always been strict on the matter. This time, Trump has threatened to deport Haitian immigrants from Springfield, Ohio, in large numbers if he is re-elected.
According to Reuters, Trump issued the threat during a press conference at his golf resort near Los Angeles on Friday, September 13. He announced plans for a large-scale deportation operation in Springfield, Ohio, targeting Haitian immigrants, even though most of them are residing legally in the U.S.
In Springfield, approximately 15,000 Haitians live, with the majority having legal residency. Until now, Trump's focus has been on mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.
During a rally in Las Vegas after the press conference, Trump expressed his frustration, stating, "I'm angry that illegal Haitian immigrants have taken over Springfield. You can see the chaos, can't you?"
He added, "I'm furious about the rapes and murders of young American girls by these violent criminal aliens who entered our country easily but illegally."
